Referring to the saying – “achieving success when one is still young”, my opinion is that to young people and students, we must give them plenty of encouragement. The reasons are being, firstly, life lessons are mostly obtained through one’s own experiences. The lectures from people “been there done that” are not really effective to young ones. It is not equivalent to one’s own experience. Secondly, achieving success when one is still young enables the person to enter into a higher level and subsequently to start to have high requirements of him or herself from an early age. These are beneficial to one’s growth. Thirdly, to achieve success, one must retain a certain degree of freshness, or even some naivety. These are characteristics of the youth. Suppressing instead of encouraging the youth could grind his or her freshness and lose the freshness when one is grown up. Many who were supposed to be successful are becoming mediocre under the suppression of the society’s education. Therefore, in my opinion, as a “been there done that”, the only thing we can give to the youth is to encourage them.
